Practice Timeline

UNIT 1

UNIT 2

Sept.- Oct. 2014

In this Unit one of the tasks for the students was to be familiar with the real time performances and their deadlines. The Soldier’s Tale opera piece was a collaboration in which the MA Digital Theatre course was responsible for the digital scenography of the performance.

Oct.- Nov. 2014

This project  was an exercise that we had to test the validity of re-presented truths, and develop their possibilities and reflect on how we had exploited  them. The topic of my interview was based on acceptance. Acceptance the difference of others (Opening the Door).

Nov.- Dec. 2014

Individual Project Proposal based on a book with the title “Deep Heat”, by Robin Soans.

Dec.-Jan. 2015

One of our practices in this first unit of the MA was to create a performance through collaboration. We were divided into groups with an abstract mutual theme that we made up together, just to have one name of the performance. Each group could added to this name, it would be like : dots, lines and…something. Dots and Lines was an allegory.

Jan.- Feb. 2015

The Costume Show was a collaboration with the BA Costume Design Students. Our obligation was to create a digital scenography- background for the costumes presentation. Each class-year had a different era and style. My team was responsible for the Hernrietta Maria and the Elizabethan era.

Feb.-Mar. 2015

For the first Lab my intention was to create a small sample of a physical theatre performance. The theme was based on the 5 Stages of Grief. My intention was to create a series of small physical theatre performances, two Labs to be exact, in order to analyze and design digitally the strongest emotions that a loss of a loved one can cause. I used the Pepper's Ghost technique.

UNIT 3

Mar.- Apr. 2015

For the second Lab my intention is to keep developing the idea of constructing a small (in scale) sample of a physical theatre performance. The aim was to design this performance from the director’s/designer’s point of view in order to create a more intergraded approach that will help me to take my skills to a higher and more professional level and to experiment on an alternative perception of theatre making. The theme of the second lab is based on the 2nd and the 3rd Stage of Grief.

The performance with the title Ithaca was the narrative project, the 2nd Practical task that we had to create and present in a performance form. The guidlines for this task had to do with the process of divising a performance piece based on a poem, a text, a theatrical play or rehearsals through improvisation, which had to be linked with our research area.

May- Sep. 2015

"Infra",

A title that refers to the "unseen, under, below, hidden" emotions and thoughts that a person could have in the most painful moment in its life. A life changing moment when you realize how fragile and weak you are as a human being. A moment such as the death of a loved one. The 5 five stages of grief are the invisible steps that the person needs to take and sometimes to create them in order to deal with the strongest types of pain.

This performance's focus is to reveal the emotional states of each stage with digital projected narrative elements in order to create the ground for the audience to feel attached and moved, and be part of what is presented and exposed.
